Lyrics
Colors of the fall
(Eric Erdman and Hanan Browning)
Her voice was a cold and windy day,
with the leaves coming down,
Her tone turned dark, an empty park
showered with bits of orange and brown
All the vivid words went dull
my back was against that old pale wall
my hands cold and blue
Right then I knew , those were the colors of the fall
Those were the colors of the fall
It’s as if the shades were drawn
A shadow fell across the room
There in my vision, the decomposition
of all that once was in bloom
Passion should’ve burned our faces red
But instead they drained to grey withdrawal
Nothing worth fight was left in that lighting
just the colors of the fall
Those were the colors of the fall
You need a vibrant brush to paint a love affair
Cheeks flush and pink hidden by a strand of your golden hair
But the lush greens of spring are getting hard to remember
April and May have faded away and we're stuck here in November
